If you’re still looking for that perfect trench, you may want to take a look at our coat rack near the barbershop. Each item is marked down 25%, and Max chose this beautiful Cold Method coat as his pick this month. Priced at $350 $262.50!
Everyone needs a crisp white shirt. Franco Negretti has been a popular label for years and is fit for the slim to medium build guys. Patricia picked out one of these shirts as her favourite this month, priced at $145 $108.75 sale price!
SAND’s attention to detail and fit has made it a popular choice for many of our customers. On sale and chosen by Neale as his favourite sale item of the month, the SAND blazer has a black trim lapel for the fashionably inclined. Priced at $650 $487.50!
We have a ton of ties to choose from, specifically by Altea and Strellson. Stock up – Janette said so! Priced from $95 to $115 $71.25 to $86.25!
A combination of a Cold Method blazer ($375 $281.25) and a Ted Baker shirt ($195 $146.25) has win written all over it. Vylan picked out a great summer outfit for a guy that’s out for an evening of excitement.

Staff Picks for June 2011

by reggie in Stuff We Like on June 17th, 2011 Discussion

Our team of stylists have picked out some of their favourite pieces going into summer! What style suits you best?

Max – Paperback shorts ($110), Farah shirt ($98)
Combining pre-washed fabrics and clean detailing, this pair of shorts and shirt from Paperback and Farah are your best weekend wear for the summer. The colour is light with a neat button down, and uses a super soft chambray to keep you in comfort.
Neale – Loft 604 shirt ($125) and shorts ($95)
Brought to you by local favourite Loft 604, its Parisian design and environmentally friendly fabrics make it a popular choice at Gotstyle. It’s sustainable fashion with a conscious: Get green without lacking style.
Lindsay – SAND blazer ($895)
Summer is here and you know what that means: Weddings! This SAND blazer will keep you ready for anything, whether you’re getting married, need them for the wedding party, or just to stand out while attending a wedding. It’s the perfect gala blazer as well. If you’re interested in wearing the same black tuxedo as everyone else, this is the choice for you.

Alternatively, you can throw on a pair of jeans for your nights out. You can even get fancy on the fly with its built in pocket square. The possibilities are endless.

Christine – Kings of Past vintage sunglasses
One of our most popular additions for the season are the new Kings of Past sunglasses, featuring different styles of real vintage pieces. Don’t mistake vintage with used, these babies are new as ever. Christine’s favourite is the original Ray-Bans, but you’ll find a lot more than that on display. Read more on Kings of Past here.

Staff Picks for May 2011

by reggie in Stuff We Like on April 29th, 2011 Discussion

We’re deep into spring (and about 10mm of rain it seems) and our crew of stylists have picked their favourite items for the month. With new product arriving daily, there are a ton of great new spring blazers, shirts, and jackets to pick through. Lets take a look at our favs!

Lekhena – Marshall Artist jacket ($210)
A unanimous favourite among the staff, this paddington jacket was built with the rainy London streets in mind. Consider getting nautical this spring with this jacket from Marshall Artist.
Vylan – Horst & Ted Baker blazers ($375 and $525, respectively)
Cotton blazers are the tune this month, and what better way to get in the rhyme of things this season with Horst and Ted Baker. The Horst blazer (bottom) is a tonal check with peak lapel, made from cotton to keep you feeling cool underneath. The Ted Baker blazer (top) can be worn casual with practically anything: match it with tee or collared shirt and white cotton pants or this season’s light blue denim. Hot.
Max – Dr Denim pants ($125 each)
They’re everything you want your chinos to be. While there are a ton of different colours to choose from, my colour of choice is green by far. Favourite colour this season.
Neale – Cold Method blazer ($375)
In tonal plaid, this tuxedo style blazer keeps a classic look (a cowl lapel) with funky & edgy detailing. Dress it up before you hit the town – weekday evenings or on the weekends.
Lindsay – Drykorn suit ($995), SAND dress shirt in pink ($195)
Want to dress sharp this summer? The three piece suit will take you places you’ve never been before. In terms of versatility and combinations, you can wear the vest on its own or pair your suit jacket with the vest and jeans. The pink from the shirt will also bring out your summer tan.

It’s also a transition piece from office to play. The three piece suit and shirt combination can bring you from the office to the evening summer patio to late night drinks at the Thompson.

Christine – LAB by Pal Zileri evening blazer ($750)
If you’re a technical person, this should wrap a big smile on your face. This blazer is lightweight and the construction is fantastic – especially inside the jacket. There’s more to it than the plaid, so make sure you ask about this one.

Staff Picks for March 2011

by reggie in New Arrivals, Stuff We Like on February 23rd, 2011 Discussion

Wow, we’ve been busy. Our stylists haven’t had a chance to present their favourite items in the store for almost three months!

March features a ton of new brands, including Johnny Love and Strellson, which our staff love and I haven’t had a chance to blog yet. Lets see what our favourites are this month!

Melissa C. – Johnny Love jackets (beige: $525, grey: $595)
Amazing cut on both of these Johnny Love jackets, with beautiful details and is a stand out piece. And it’s cause I love it, Johnny.

(Note: Although Melissa C. was the first person to grab this jacket as her pick of the month, the entire staff agreed this was their pick of the month as well)

Neale – Strellson suit & shirt ($725, $150)
High quality doesn’t always come at a price. Affordable new slim fit shirts from Strellson are built for slightly framed guys that’re looking for a trim cut without looking tight. Same goes for the suits.
Christine – SAND suit ($1100)
Purple is the new red. And SAND‘s great colour contrast this spring makes this a clear winner.
Charlotte – Zanerobe ($95)
It’s a fashionable tee, it has spring colours, and it’s the optimal layering piece. Why wouldn’t you want this Zanerobe tee in your closet?
Michael – T-Concept by Tombolini suit and vest ($795, $175)
The option of two or three piece suit is there, since they’re sold separately. It’s fun, it’s contemporary, and three pieces suits are not for old men anymore.
Vylan – Zanerobe shorts ($125, $150)
They’re trim, they’re a couple inches above the knee, and they make you look more athletic and slimmer. Skip the baggy shorts – baggy is out!

Staff Picks for November

by reggie in Stuff We Like on November 27th, 2010 Discussion

Michael – Goorin Hats ($55 to $65)
An easy choice for Michael, since he’s the one who did the buying to bring the Goorin Hats in. It’s functional for both casual and formal wear and a good alternative as an every day hat. The knit hats are extremely warm and a great gift for its accessory price point.

Joa – Marshall Artist Jacket ($250)
Melissa C – Marshall Artist Cardigan ($125), Jacket ($195)
Great fabrics and detailing, including the leather zipper pockets. And reasonably priced!

Christine – Gold Lab Jacket ($195)
The perfect sweater coat on those milder days. The fur lining makes this jacket very cozy to wear and admire.

Veronica – Gold Lab Jacket ($275)
Not into the Canada Goose this winter? Veronica is into a major fur phase, and this jacket from Gold Lab has a 100% rabbit fur trim with army detailing. Great mixture of textured leather, buckle detail, and a wool peacoat material. It’s your casual and night out on the town coat.

Lindsay – I.Am vest ($250)
Everyone needs a lot of rock star in them for the holidays. This waxed cotton vest works great with a dress shirt or t-shirt, and a pair of jeans or dress pants. Plus the line is by Will.I.Am, and Lindsay is a huge BEP fan. Stand out at your Christmas parties!

Vylan – John Varvatos Jeans ($205), Shirt ($170), and T-Will Belt ($150)
The every day man needs an every day outfit. These slim, straight leg jeans use a coated denim that’s stiff (but not construction paper, raw denim stiff) in a deep brown, gasoline colour with whiskers. A great alternative to your usual denim, and pairs well with black work boots.

The black Varvatos shirt feels like your oldest, favourite shirt. In a washed baby corduroy, it includes detail on the zipper and epaulets. It’s also short enough to wear untucked.
