If you’re in Toronto and haven’t checked out Shopcastr, go now. It’s a new website, like Pinterest – but with a more local niche. It’s an easy and way to find what you’re looking for (or find a cool gift) right in your own city. Although it’s Toronto-specific and features stores of all types – food, clothing, decorating, jewellery, and art; you can’t actually buy the products online. The goal of Shopcastr is to show you the products and prices, then get you into the store to buy it. Think of it as a city-wide shopping guide that’s updated by stores daily.

Toronto Life has picked up the Shopcastr buzz; over 300 local stores have been active since November, including Gotstyle. See something you like? use the “love” function to remind yourself. Follow along to see our newest arrivals and prices.

What’s New: Stones from Germany

by Melissa in New Arrivals on February 28th, 2012 Discussion

Stones is one of those under the radar brands, it’s been around for over 10 years. It fits our profile of classics with a twist and at a good price point. If we sell the majority of our suits at $900 the magic price point for a sport jackets should be around $500. It’s been hard to find, but Stones offers just that: interesting sport jackets that can do double duty for work or play, well made and a modern fit that works for the bigger guy.

What’s New: Two Thirds

by Melissa in New Arrivals on February 27th, 2012 Discussion

Not only does Two Thirds have a good message it’s a great collection. Founded in the Basque Region of Spain as a surf-inspired street wear collection for the grown-ups. I stumbled across Two Thirds at the Capsule show in New York last year, what caught me eye was the rolled up chinos in the perfect summer blue with selvage taping (nice touch when you roll them up) $130.

Navy chinos $130.

Then I saw their message: Two Thirds of the earth is covered in ocean, it’s what makes us who we are and what gives us so much joy. So to protect what you love, they donate 10% of all sales to Oceana, use eco-packaging with harmless dissolvable bags and highly sustainable fabrics.

Other items in the collection are those everyday basics that all guys need to update on:

Henley made from super soft organic cotton, subtle taping detail on the inside placket $80.

The perfect oxford shirt with subtle details like one contrast button, contrast taping on placket and cuff. Wear with dress pants and a blazer or a pair of PRPS distressed jeans and running shoes $120.

Field jacket with a shot of color, both rugged and modern $285.
