What’s New: Sans Vanite + Hiltl Pants

by reggie in New Arrivals on September 29th, 2010 Discussion

Vancouver based label Sans Vanite has made its way back onto our racks this fall with new tees, henleys, and hoodies.

It’s soft and slim fitting with an emphasis to detail. The black and greys are sure to blend you into the fall season for your casual days and nights out in the city. Different styles to choose from, be sure to try one on!

X-rated tee priced at $89. Henley and hoodie ranges from $130 to $189.

Melissa says “the Sans Vantie henley and hoodie is the prefect upgrade for whatever sweatshirt / polar fleece you’re wearing now – they’re as comfty but way more stylish.”

Really liking that tweed jacket Joa picked out as his favourite this fall? The old school patterns are making a return this fall, with a new pair of pant from Hiltl, available in plaid and herringbone (pictured below). If you plan on making a statement with the classics this fall, you can start with these. Priced at $295 each.

Melissa says “the new alternative to denim pants we got in are sooo easy to co-ordinate with because with different colors woven into the fabric you have so many more options for matching. For example the pant below, you can wear it with brown cord sportcoat or a blue v-neck sweater or a grey oxford shirt and a wool knit tie or a black cashmere hoodie or a…….”

What’s New: Pringle & SAND Sweaters

by reggie in New Arrivals on September 28th, 2010 Discussion

Lightweight. That’s really the key to layering this fall when you’re picking out sweaters. Pringle is back this fall in green and purple tones, ideal for pairing up with the new SAND shirts new for this season. Wear them over top your shirts or stand-alone. You can check mark style, comfort, versatility and affordability with this sweater. Priced at $195.

Not to be outdone, SAND continues to impress with a soft lightweight sweater with the classic elbow patch to match. More character the better! Priced at $250.

Melissa says “these sweaters are a great way to inject some color into your Fall wardrobe. Perfect if you are business casual at work (wear layered over a shirt and tie) or for a great date night look (wear layered over a v-neck tee, under a sportcoat)”.

What’s New: More SAND Shirts!

by reggie in New Arrivals on September 27th, 2010 Discussion

New bright and colourful shirts from SAND have arrived! They’re exploring a stronger colour palette and the results are spectacular!

Okay, we’re kidding about the colour. The new Olympus PEN E-PL1 has a function for POP ART which brightens the colour on your photos. Wanted to see how POP these shirts could get.

These are what they really look like:

These, along with many different styles from SAND, are flooding our shelves and are a must have. Recruiting the purple theme this fall, these shirts will provide an edgier look when pairing them with our new purple and green SAND and Pringle lightweight sweaters, which will be posted on our blog tomorrow. SAND shirts are priced at $195.

Melissa says “the rich jewel tones of these shirts make a great statement on their own but even better for an event night when teamed up with a velvet blazer and a white pocket square. And of course you’re only wearing them tucked in, right?!”

Philips SensoTouch 3D

by reggie in General on September 25th, 2010 Discussion

I was invited down to Bymark yesterday for the unveiling of the new Philips SensoTouch 3D. Introduced as the latest and greatest in wet and dry electric shavers, this precedes the most recent product from the Philips shaver line, the Philips Arcitec.

While Gotstyle isn’t known for carrying electric shavers, this product may make us change our minds.

Can’t lie, my memory is pretty bad, but I’ll give it a shot. The new Philips SensoTouch 3D makes its mark from its fine point razors and are thicker for a defining finish. It allows full rotation (although not 360 degrees) to ensure maximized comfort and reach on the skin, which also benefit from its rounded corners. At 60 minutes battery life, you’re looking at about 20 days of usage before a recharge.

There is a 2D version that doesn’t rotate as impressively as the 3D, has a less refined head, and does not have the fancy battery life indicator as well. It’s a decent utility at $100 less than the 3D.

The media launch included an overview and Q&A session the communications manager and product specialist, a master barber, two sexy pin up girls and a roster of SensoTouch electric shavers. Of course, free booze and a seemingly never-ending menu of hors d’oeuvres kept us occupied.

With a demonstration from the master barber on the bearded model, my three day power beard needed a quick tune up. Looking forward to having my facial ‘do buzzed down by Jean-Marc, I was also interested to hear his background. Jean-Marc owns a barbershop in Montreal called Mohawks and has been chopping down men’s hair for a long time. He did a splendid job on all willing participants.

A number of great individuals were on hand to see and test out the new Philips SensoTouch 3D electric razor, included Cliff from the Globe, Derrick from the Post, Max from Fab Magazine, and Robert from Electric Shavers Forums. In case you haven’t noticed, my forte does not include remembering last names.

Our gift bag included a Philips SensoTouch 3D to take home and try on ourselves! Whether it has an expiry date, is unknown.

Thanks to Charmaine from Ketchum PR, and Court & Nagede from Philips for the invitation!

What’s New: Moose Knuckles

by reggie in New Arrivals on September 23rd, 2010 Discussion

WINTER 2011 UPDATE: Read about our latest Moose Knuckles jackets this season!

With the summer coming to a chilly close, reality kicks in as we’re forced to start looking towards the question that comes out every year: “What jacket are you going to wear during the winter?”

The Canadian born label Moose Knuckles from Will Poho has been a great addition to the store since bringing them in over a year ago, becoming a customer favourite and one of our most popular brands.

We’ve had people asking since the beginning of August (!!) about the new Moose Knuckle jackets. Their website and Fall/Winter 2010 collection are launching this month and we’ve just received stock for their Parkas from small to large sizes.

Come and get them while they’re still around! Please note we will not be doing holds on these jackets.

Melissa says “if you want to be warm this winter and not look like every other guy sporting a Canada Goose jacket, then this is the one. I was finally been able to imbrace winter when I got a Mooseknuckle parka last year, now I laugh at minus 30 knowing I’ll be warm AND not look like a Michelin man (I do not however, look like the chick in the picture either).”

The Moose Knuckle Bomber Jackets will be available in the next few weeks.

They were featured in two news articles – read about them below!
