What’s New: Gotstyle Dress Shirts, House of Gods, Religion

by Melissa in New Arrivals on July 30th, 2010 Discussion

Gotstyle Dress Shirts

Gotstyle dress shirts, $165

Our in-house dress shirts will give you that in-between season pick up that you need – fabrics are light weight enough to wear now, in colors that will take you into the Fall. The fit? Of course they are darted in the back for a trim fit but not so trim that you can’t wear them to work. Priced at $165.

What’s New: House of Gods

House of Gods, Mick Jagger & Pink Floyd tees,$75-85

Buddhistpunk has collaborated both professionally and privately for artists as diverse as Schooly D, The Prodigy, The Gossip, Gary Numan, The Rolling Stones, Blondie, Guns and Roses, Aerosmith, Kylie, Britney Spears, U2, Ian Astbury, Iggy Pop, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Roxy Music, Run DMC, David Bowie, The Police and many more.

They started House of Gods in 2006 to take advantage of being the most integrated fashion house within the Rock & Roll industry. They continue in the great tradition of Rock & Roll garments and band t’s but develope their own singular style of original artwork and reinventing iconic imagery. Priced between $75 & $85.

What’s New: Religion

We have carried Religion off and on since we opened, and now we’re back on since they’ve moved passed the goth and skulls stage to a more sophisticated yet edgy club wear. The must have item for Fall? A midnight blue denim jacket ($185) that you are going to wear day into evening and if you can’t afford THE must have leather jacket by Christian Dior, Religion did an inspired version at 1/4 the price at $575.

What’s New: Tee Library – Read them and wear them!

by Melissa in New Arrivals on July 29th, 2010 Discussion

Just brought in a great new tee shirt collection that offers graphics of a more civilized nature (as opposed to skulls and tattoos!). Tee Library‘s designs and graphics are inspired from classic, well known literature (Alice in Wonderland, George Orwell’s Animal Farm, and To Kill a Mockingbird – seen above/below), and each tee comes in a box designed to look like a vintage library book – amazing packaging! Various graphic methods are used to make the tees from photos, painting, stamping, digital or drawing and the method that is used for each tee shirt is stamped on the sleeve.

Collect all of them and you’ll look well read, but really you’ll be better dressed! Priced at $85.

New York Buying Trip – Spring 2011

by Melissa in General on July 28th, 2010 Discussion

Just got back from the trade shows in NYC, starting to buy for next spring. After three trade shows, looking at over 500 different brands in the scorching NY heat, it made for a very long few days. But it is NYC and it’s always fun (and I always seem to go when the shoe sales are at 65% off!). Some things to look forward to for next Spring:

1. Lots of great new short and swimsuit options – finally they are coming out with new designs and details to make shorts more interesting for guys. The swimwear market is also exploding with trimmer styles and hopefully the end of the oversized swim trunks for guys.
2. Cool outerwear – I’m always on the search for new outerwear lines and found the perfect one from Norway, military inspired details, water resistant and a great fit for guys who work out.
3. New suit lines – There is a suit collection out of the UK called Without Prejudice that is starting to take over market share from Boss in the independent stores. They do a true size 41 for those in-between guys, offer working buttonholes with a contrast purple stitch… trying to get some styles in for Fall! Check out their collection on their site.

As for the restaurants and NY bars…stay tuned for the next post.
